Let’s Play… Corporate Innovation BINGO!

I created this as a little energiser exercise for the 2019 #leanstartup conference. Have a play and let me know how your company fares ;)

The aim of the game

The exercise here was to find different people in the room and around the conference whose companies had different innovation elements and understand from them:

• which innovation components their company runs today
• what works well
• what are the challenges with each element
• what do they wish they knew sooner

You could play this within your own company:

• On your own to see how you do
• In your team to see what others have experience with
• Across your company to learn about new initiatives and the wider innovation agenda
• Or if you’re feeling brave, with a friendly C-Suite member to find what they’re passionate about investing in, or even as an education tool to show them what they’re missing in a bid to start unlocking some buy-in and budget (they do need to be friendly and open to a different way of exploring new ideas for this to work though)

We actually ran out of time for the exercise at Lean Startup Conference, because there were so many amazing questions on the three horizons of innovation framework we worked through (more on that coming) but it’s never too late to play at any conferences or events you go to.

It’s a great conversation starter to get to quickly learn:

• What your peers are doing and where you can learn from each other or share experiences on common ground
• Which stage of maturity their company is at
• What are some best in glass practices as well as common pitfalls to avoid.
